Women, Food & Spirit: Intuitive Eating, Forgiveness & Unleashing The Divine Feminine

February 17, 2019 | By More

“Who is she?  She is your power, your Feminine source.  Big Mama.  The Goddess.  The Great Mystery.  The web-weaver.  The life force.  The first time, the twentieth time you may not recognize her.  Or pretend not to hear.  As she fills your body with ripples of terror and delight.  But when she calls you will know you’ve been called.  Then it is up to you to decide if you will answer.”  ~ Luch H. Pearce

Women have had a long-standing love affair with food.  There have been times when food has been healing, relieving, comforting and soothing.  And there are times that women have had an ashamed, out of control and frustrating relationship with food.

It seems that, during these times, no amount of willpower is enough to shift our dynamic with the very life source that sustains us in physical form.

So, have we ever asked why?  And better yet, have we ever asked if there was a better way through this complex relationship?

Through the mass marketing of the diet industry (that is a multi-billion dollar industry) and the ever changing recommendations on what we should eat, we’ve forgotten one crucial element.

Our relationship with food, as with everything else, is meant to be intuitive, loving, nourishing and pleasurable.

So how have we fallen off the rails?  Why have we become closet eaters who live with a rift between where we want to be with our bodies and where we actually sit in our bodies?

To start, we can point to the historic role of the feminine on this planet.  Even though the feminine, in her most organic state, is fluid and nourishing and free, we’ve seen anything but that in our ancestral origins.

The feminine has been tethered, giving (to the point of exhaustion), stifled and repressed.  And to top it off, we’ve been encouraged not to receive.

So we’ve been left feeling overwhelmed and deficient.  Anytime there is deficiency, there is a need to FILL that void.  Anytime there is powerlessness, there is a need to somehow take that back.

Food, then, becomes the silent lover, the consoler, the void filler, the happiness maker.  And because we’ve assigned food to fill in the deficiencies that we have felt so deeply, we’ve removed our intuitive relationship with food.

We then start to rely on outside sources to tell us how to us, what to eat and when to eat.  We’re shamed when we eat meat.  We’re bad when we eat sugar and we’re degraded when, God forbid, our bodies don’t look perfect.

It’s a vicious cycle that has an incredible invitation awaiting our response.  As with any unconscious pattern there is a beautiful gift that allows us to unlock a better way; a more loving and conscious way.

The question is, are you ready to step into your birthright as The Divine Feminine?  The feminine, fully seated in all of her glory doesn’t ask permission.  She stops hiding.  She OWNS herself; completely.

When the hiding and the inner power struggle stop, our relationship with everything changes.  And food, once again, becomes a lovely, innocent, nourishing, delicious part of our lives again.  The struggle leaves and we sit in acceptance of ourselves and our part in this world.

This is the invitation.

Presented by Ann Jarvis – Intuitive Energy Healer, Holistic Nutritionist & Metaphysical Teacher

This full day workshop takes us deeply into women’s complex relationship with food, themselves and their Divine Feminine.  For any woman who has ever struggled with food, shame or body issues, this is an opportunity to understand and uncover what might be at the heart of this complex relationship.

The workshop will cover some of the following topics:

Why the diet industry is like a hamster wheel that never lets you off

How looking to exterior sources for ‘dieting advice’ deepens our sense of powerlessness

How to take back your power

Intuitive eating

What shame has to do with disordered or uncontrolled eating

The feminine deficiency syndrome

The ultimate relationship

The day will consist of some great, interactive discussions and teachings.  And despite the heaviness of this topic, Ann likes to make things as fun as possible.  You will be taken through a guided meditation that will help you to release old, outdated trauma.  Together, we’ll weave a new feminine-based web that is supportive, nourishing, empowering and joyful.

Jennae O’Connor will be creating a clean, gentle and healing menu for our day together.  This will include a plant-based lunch, snacks and fresh pressed juices.
