Time Enough for Love?

In the immortal Lyrics of Burt Bacharach and Hal David and sung by Dusty Springfield:

What the world needs now is love, sweet love

It’s the only thing that there’s just too little of What the world needs now is love, sweet love, No not just for some but for everyone.…

It all starts with each one of us; our commitment to cultivating healthy self love and sharing the wealth. If we didnt have a good experience of it in our childhood, its time to take ourselves in hand, do the work, learn the life lessons, the love lessons and then share the wealth with others.

The way bees make honey offers great insight into this, at times, seemingly impossible mission. Make like bees. Gather nectar from all the flowers/people and places you visit or whatever life presents to you. Go home and make honey with your friends, family and coworkers. When its ready, store it in your honeycomb/home ready to share with friends and strangers alike. It takes eight bees their entire lifetimes to make a teaspoon of honey. A sweet lifes work, if you make it yours.

What can we do in this month of love that pays significant homage to the mystery of Love? In a world too often overwhelmingly full of violence, cruelty, hatred and destruction how can we make a meaningful difference? In this month of love we can choose to make a habit of making honey/making love. Make like the bees and consciously dedicate ourselves to making honey and becoming the creators and distributors of love.
