Clearing Brings in Light

With winter now behind us it’s time to peel off those protective layers we have been hibernating under.

I don’t know about you but I have been wrapped up in the safety of my cave feeling protected and cozy, albeit there were times when I felt like I was suffocating beneath the weight and darkness.

With each day the sunlight stays around a little longer and from somewhere deep within there is this instinctual urge to clean – this has got to be where the term “Spring Cleaning” originated.  As I’ve gotten down to business, clearing each layer of “stuff” out of my space I not only feel lighter physically and mentally an openness brightens my Spirit.  It can be hard to let go of our stuff but I can definitely say that the effort will be worth it – I sure feel a whole lot better in every way.

I compare it to the butterfly.  There is a time that the cocoon has its purpose of protecting and allowing us to develop and grow and there is the time to shed it.  Now is the perfect time to begin to discard what no longer serves our highest good.  The thick blanket (of things – dust, memorabilia, relationships…) whatever I’ve used to cover and protect me during the cold dark months has done its job and now it is my time to gently push it away.  As I do I can see with more clarity, allowing new and fresh ideas to enter my vision.  It takes work, perseverance and optimism to do this, but each layer removed brings in more light.

The cool, crisp and clean air fills me.  With each deep breath I inhale it pumps fresh energy into my lungs, heart and throughout my Soul.  The lightness is invigorating and inspiring.

It is time to leave the cocoon, begin a new journey and flutter lightly into the new Season.
